The Reviews

Audience Comments

"We’ve seen The Maskers at Hamptworth Lodge lots of times and now its lovely to find they are putting on this play in the gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed it’ It so lovely to see some theatre we have missed it so much – thank you" - M.B.

"With theatres across the land condemned to temporary silence what a pleasure it is to find the Maskers flying the flag for the arts. The sun shone, the sound effects from the speakers blended with the sound from the outdoors and the audience were invited to eavesdrop on the conversation of two strangers debating the trials and tribulations of lockdown Britain. A real pleasure to sit in the sun and for a brief moment be transported to the lives of others. A reminder also of how important theatre and live performance is as part of our lives and deserving of our support." - A.M.

"What a lovely treat, when are you doing another one!" - Anon

"The show was amazing. We're so grateful we had the possibility to see a theatre performance in such a difficult time. Thank you to the organizers and to Sunnyfield for their continue support and new ideas to help our community." - L.M.

Life after Lockdown

A short story

In the summer of 2020 the park is the place to go – there is not much else to do. Two people of a certain age meet and chat , struggling with social distancing and the new ways of the world.

They share their stories, their joys and sadness and find they have something in common – they are alone. …. but lockdown provides a solution that didn’t exist a few short months ago – a “Bubble”.

There is no charge for this event! Tickets are not required.

There will be a bucket collection, should you feel that you are able to support us through these difficult times
