Jenny is certain something is wrong in their new home. Every night at 2:22 a.m., she wakes to unsettling noises on the baby monitor — sounds she’s convinced mean someone, or something, is watching. Her husband, Sam, insists it’s nothing more than stress, but when their friends Lauren and Ben arrive for dinner, the conversation spirals into a night of uneasy laughter, sharp disagreements, and revelations that cut far deeper than any of them expect.
As the hours slip by and the tension mounts, secrets surface, loyalties shift, and the boundary between scepticism and belief begins to fracture. With 2:22am drawing ever closer, the four of them are forced to confront what they fear, what they trust, and what they can’t explain.
Blending dark humour, psychological unease, and a creeping sense of the supernatural, 2:22 A Ghost Story delivers a gripping, nerve jangling night that leaves audiences questioning what they’ve seen — and what might be waiting in the dark.

Director & Cast

The Director of this production is Angela Raistrick
Since joining Maskers last autumn, Angela has been very active, appearing in Merry Maskerade, The Scottish Play, and, most recently, The Secret Garden. Angela studied Performing Arts at college and has been performing from a young age, first appearing dancing as a sugarplum in The Nutcracker aged just three and being involved in junior performances at the Nuffield Theatre. 2:22 A Ghost Story is her directorial debut.

Jenny is played by Jenni Scott
This is Jenni’s first performance with Maskers, although she performs regularly on the Hampshire community theatre circuit. She has appeared in numerous productions across Titchfield Festival Theatre, Bench Theatre, Light Up and Southsea Shakespeare Actors. Her performance highlights include playing Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (SSA, July 2026), Celia in As You Like It (Bench, April/May 2025), Cecily Cardew in The Importance of Being Earnest (TFT Arden, June 2024), Rita in Educating Rita (TFT Acorn, April 2024), and Bella Manningham in Gaslight (TFT Oak, May 2023). Jenni is also lead singer for Locks Heath-based band Cahoots.

Sam is played by Alec Sleigh
Alec trained at the Identity School of Acting. His first theatrical role was as the lead in a production of Simon Stephens’ Birdland, which ran at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe. He has since been in productions of shows such as Miss Julie, Hamlet, A Yorkshire Tragedy, A Stranger in Our House, and Dead Leaves. He returned to the Edinburgh Fringe in as part of further productions in 2023 and 2024. Last year, he also took his first turn in the director's chair with his original show: Pro Patria.
2:22 A Ghost Story is his third show with Maskers, having previously appeared in Much Ado About Nothing, and Almost, Maine.

Lauren is played by Naomi Scott
Tempted by the allure of a small and dark studio putting on a horror that she’s rather fond of, Naomi couldn’t resist auditioning for 2.22 A Ghost Story, and is delighted to be part of the cast. Whilst this is her debut with Maskers, Naomi has been active with other local groups for many years, participating in a range of comedies, dramas, and pantomimes, and even directing a bit of open-air chaos.

Ben is played by Chris Gath
Chris is thrilled to be playing a part in Masker’s Halloween production: 2:22 A Ghost Story.
The Woman in Black, and The Haunting of Hill House being two of his favourite plays, he is really looking forward to the thrills and scares 2:22 A Ghost Story has to offer, and he hopes you are too.
This is Chris’ second outing with Maskers, having played Frank in The Scottish Play earlier in the year He has thoroughly enjoyed working with Angela and Meri again, and also how much fun this play has been to put together. He would like to thank the rest of the cast and crew for all their hard work,.

Jed is back on the stage after a successful acting debut in The Secret Garden at Maskers in June. Jed studied theatre studies at A-level and is hoping to add more performances to his portfolio.

Customers are requested to arrive promptly as late comers cannot be admitted. PLEASE NOTE: Doors do not open until 30 minutes before performancee

On arrival at the Masker’s Studio

Please give your name (or the name the tickets were booked under) to our Box Office receptionist, and they will confirm your booking.
If you have pre-ordered a programme you will be given it on arrival. Programmes will also be available for purchase from a FOH member.
For the safety of all our audience members and staff are still operating some Covid risk reduction actions. Please use the hand sanitising stations on arrival. We will also be increasing the fresh air circulating throughout the venue.
Wearing of face coverings is optional.
Our bar will be open for purchases of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. We would encourage you to pre-order your interval drinks, to assist our bar staff and reduce crowding at the bar.
We are now able to take, and prefer, card payments but can also take cash.

During your visit

A stairlift and disabled toilet facilities are available.
Hand sanitiser will be available for your use at various points around the theatre building.
We have installed an extra extractor fan to vent studio air to the outside pulling fresh air in from the other side of the building.
Where possible windows will also remain open. This may make the venue cooler than you are used to, so please be prepared.
Enhanced cleaning will take place throughout the venue before, and after the performance.
The taking of photographs or videos whilst the show is on is not permitted.

Exiting the building/event at the end of the performance

When leaving, please do not crowd the stairwell and allow everyone to leave easily and quickly.
As you go down the alleyway, please take extra care and keep to the marked footpath as the road is very uneven.
Please take any rubbish with you or leave it in the bins provided.

What if I have specific access needs?

The stair chair lift is available and our FOH staff will assist you should you need to use it.
Any other requirements may be discussed with our Box Office manager in advance of your arrival.

What happens if a show is cancelled?

If we are required to cancel a performance, we will offer you tickets for an alternative performance.
