Nuffield Theatre Studio Theatre
onMonday 5th October 2009
The Meningitis Trust approached The Maskers Theatre Company to see if it was possible to produce a show from which the proceeds could be donated to the Trust. The show "Famous for Fifteen" was the result.
The format of the proposed evening was to present six short plays, each lasting no longer than fifteen minutes (hence the event title) and each show having a maximum cast of four players. The plays were written by various Maskers and their friends. Six directors were appointed, players were found and rehearsals commenced.
The Nuffield Theatre management was asked if they would be kind enough to allow the show to be presented in their studio theatre, they very kindly agreed to do so and the venue was fixed.
The Masker's technical staff were tasked with providing sound and lights for six different shows in one evening ---- no mean feat! --- of course they rose to the occasion and full technical support was given.
All proceeds from the show were donated to The Meningitis Trust.
