Tinsel tells the story of Ethel Ruthbridge - a girl from Wyoming - who heads for Hollywood in 1938 with the dream of making it into the movies. She gets a job as a waitress at Schwab's, changes her name to Dolores, and waits to be discovered. What happens to Dolores as she gets entangled in the Hollywood world of B movies provides both the humour and drama of the sixty minute play.
Tinsel stars local actress Rachel Taggart and is written by her father, TV producer Patrick Taggart. The piece has been described variously as "short, sweet, funny and sad" and "a charming hour in the company of Miss Taggart", so well worth the pathetically small ticket price of £5.00.
